Welcome to Sonrise Church, our goal is to prayerfully seek to develop all aspects of our ministry according to the holy scripture, which we recognize as our only source of authority. We seek to bring the unchurched to a relationship with Jesus Christ through a ministry that is both exciting and fun. We strive to be a community of believers developing personal and nurturing relationships with one another. Our church will assist individuals in discovering their spiritual gifts and personality strenghts,then encourage them to use those abilities. Our worship will be upbeat and contemporary with the use of music, drama, and technology. We will continually seek to improve our effectiveness in ministry, and work to duplicate our ministry on every level. We commit to being a planting church, always seeking to develop new leaders and small groups.
Who We Are
Sunday worship is lead by Pastor Daryl McCready and Associate Pastor Kyle McDaniel.
SonRise is a 'church plant' that started in January 2002 and launched weekly services in October 2002 at the Ocean Downs Race Track; near Ocean Pines, Maryland. On August 17th, 2003 we began meeting at our new location, Stephen Decatur High School at Rt. 50 & Seahawk Road in Berlin, Maryland.
We currently have two services to choose from. We would love for you to join us Sunday mornings at 8:30 a.m. & 10:30 a.m.
What to Expect
We believe God is more concerned with your heart than your clothes. Dress up or down for any of our services. It's up to you! We want you to know that SonRise is a safe place where you can find answers at your own pace. We won't ask you to introduce yourself and we won't ask you for money. In fact, we encourage our guests to keep their money in their pockets so they can keep their hearts and minds on the service.
Cafe Style
Our services are casual and upbeat. We have a live band and worship with music like you hear on the radio. Pastor Daryl preaches using humor, media and the arts to illustrate what the Bible has to say about current issues and how to apply it to our lives today. Our Video/ Computer Projection Team uses state of the art equipment to project song lyrics and scripture, sermon highlights, and video clips on a big screen to enhance the worship experience.
Come early for our continental breakfast. Grab some coffee or juice and a whole assortment of breakfast foods. No need to eat before you come!
